After a few weeks of design and great communication with Neerav, we were able to bring a much needed Manhattan, modern feel to the site, which previously used an old style tables coding and c. 2001 design. After designing we needed to integrate into the existing system, which was quite the challenge, because the code was very anti-standards. For any coders out there — it didn’t even use includes for simple things like a header and footer, yet the last coding company had the nerve to tell them they had a CMS, because they could change one paragraph of text on each page using a back end admin page. (all the rest was hard coded html … and each page had its own DB query to get the one paragraph that was editable — quite the night mare). And though we weren’t commissioned to really improve the system drastically we did our best to make future updates a little easier by at least converting to some includes for common areas of the site.
