I’ve recently been talking about functionality vs. design in building websites, and this post got me thinking…
Google is the “king” of functionality, but by the standards set by many design firms, they lack wholly in beautiful design. I’m sure their users aren’t complaining that they don’t have a crazy 3D flash headers & navigation buttons. So maybe what it boils down to is; look at who your customer is. If you customer doesn’t care what your site looks like, as long as they can find what they want to find, then maybe you should think like them. That is “if” you care about your customer : )
